Mixt Greens was founded in San Francisco in 2005 by Andrew Swallow, his sister Leslie Silverglide and her husband David Silverglide with two goals – to make the best salads on earth and to build a great business that set the bar incorporating sustainability throughout its entire operation.
Since then we have grown to 7 restaurants in San Francisco and Los Angeles, served over two million pounds of local and organic lettuce, were voted ‘Best Healthy Lunch‘ by the San Francisco Chronicle and were awarded the ‘Hot Concept’ award from Nations Restaurant News – all thanks to our loyal fans!
In 2009 we were approached by a private equity fund that acquired the business – but we missed Mixt Greens – the farmers we work with, the amazing employees who are as passionate as we are, and the enthusiasm our customers have for our restaurants – so in early 2012 we bought the company back.
